In the Hoeft T&M Program, learning isn’t confined to the classroom. Juniors can take part in a global immersion trip to experience business, and culture, beyond U.S. borders. You’ll travel to key multinational company offices hosted by our corporate partners, while exploring the local culture, history, and cuisine of each destination.
The primary component of the international immersion trip is for students to better understand the dynamics of business in a global setting. Students visit the T&M corporate sponsors at their offices outside the United States to learn about the companies’ national and multinational strategies. In addition to company visits, students interact with a variety of Illinois alumni.
International Business Plan Competition
Each winter, a select group of students competes internationally in a high-stakes business plan competition. Working in multinational teams alongside undergraduates and graduates from renowned institutions in Hong Kong, Brazil, Germany, and more, you’ll design technology-enabled business models that tackle complex, cross-cultural challenges. Past sites include Seoul, São Paulo, London, Bayreuth, and Silicon Valley, making this a demanding, eye-opening, and deeply rewarding experience.
